944 Transmission help!!!!
(1986 944 n/a) My transmission is dead and i am planing to through another one in! would a 1983 transmission fit and work .

An '83 would fit.
You do not want a turbo tranny, as they are geared way too tall for a normally-asperated 944. |

As dantilla mentioned, you don't want a Turbo tranny! The final drive ratio will make the car even slower than it already is
 Having said that, I have a couple rebuilt transmissions and a few used, good condition transmissions lined up at the shop. It all depends on what you want internally... Open Diff, Limited slip, tall 5th, short 5th? Will this be in a daily driver, AX, DE car? For more info, feel free to PM me! -Nick

My first instinct would be to call Nick and try to get a rebuilt one so you know the quality when you put it in. If that doesn't work for you, then try a few of these places.
