My Porsche is my only car, so it's in the snow whenever it snows. We got 22 inches here on Friday (up to about 26 now)...Ill put a pic up later....I don't have any weight, and all season tires and im still impressed with how well it performs

Mine is the ONLY car I will drive (call me picky), summer or winter, it doesn't matter. My 2ndary vehicle is a motorcycle - now that vehicle I won't drive in the winter, unless it's an emergency of course.

This is the 1st time this car has ever seen snow. It has lived in Florida it's whole life... This winter I took it on a 3,500mile+ road trip and hit some snow in Conn.

That's only true if your car needs to be fixed and you don't have a heated garage. Summer heat is what sucks in general.

Here are pics of my 16 year old learning how to handle the snow last week. We don't get too much around here, but it's important to know what to do when it comes.

Been in the snow (20") only once with mine. A number of years ago I was trying to get back to NYC from Cleveland, Oh. Had to turn back initially. It was just a handfull to keep it pointed straight on I80, plus other folks in cars and trucks not making me feel too safe. The 2nd day wasn't much better... sure the road was plowed in and around the city of Cleveland, but in the mountains of PA - I just about crapped my pants. My hat's off to you guys who've mastered driving this thing in the snow.

Most of the snow has melted. Took this the other day in Swampscott MA at the Andrews Chapel on Essex street. Yes in the graveyard! I have a truck and another car but this gets driven all the time. I have good snows on the back and a set of D60 M2's on the front. One of the best cars in the snow when properly equipped.

After a week of snow melting I decided to wipe down my ride before the next storm hits tonight. Drove it in all the mess, and even did 10mph drifting on the ice glazed streets; lots of fun, but even better, great practice for the unseen incident of unseen conditions in the future.

My car is in storage. Like a bear, it hibernates when it gets cold.
My Accord does winter duty ![]() I think you guys are crazy to subject your cars to all this!

Well, the way I see it, a car is, well...just a car, and made to be driven, used, enjoyed, fixed, driven some more, worn out, rebuilt, revved to hell and back, fixed some more, worn out some more, sold/scrapped/restored, and so on. I probably wouldn't drive it if it was in show condition and I had another that serves daily driver duties, but I don't. I'm definitely a user/fixer rather than a preserver and my car shows it, but it also was never very nice looking to begin with. It's a driver's car. But those with nice weekend cars, it makes sense not to go out in it. It's definitely hard on vehicles.
I can appreciate both sides of the issue, but it makes me squirm in agony riding with someone else who babies their car excessively, not that any of us do, but we all know those kind..."but the engine's going to blow up if you go past 2000 and you'll only get 3 mpg! I want my car to last." Well, at that rate, it will rust to smitherines long before the drivetrain starts having any problems. Especially cars today are a bit better engineered in that department than old stuff 30 years ago, with the exception of German cars. Those are always good.

Yep. My car is a good 10 footer and I have changed more motors than I an remember. Racing missed shifts oil starvation clipping the outside wall at NHIS is all just part of the ownership experience. A little snow and cold? My car just laughs at it and keeps on trucking

I know what you guys mean. My car isn't exactly babied; I'm not a "take off your shoes before you get in it" kind of guy. But I like to keep her clean.
I was always curious to see how it is in the snow. The only time I ever had to deal with it was a couple years ago when I took it out of storage a bit early and then got stuck some time in April when there was a small amount of snow coming down. I couldn't make it up my driveway...
