Hey, I'm looking for an engine for a 87' 924s. I just bought the car off my uncle for $2,500 needs a new clutch. I'm looking for a new engine since this one has 97,445 miles on it. So I'm a 17 year old kid looking to buy somthing cheap BUT GOOD, since i spent most of my summer working to earn this money :P

Let me know if you can work out a deal and what the engine includes. I dont know too much about cars I need to learn fast. So if I were to buy this engine let me know what I would need to buy to have it compatiable for the 87' 924s. I'm looking somewhere in the range of less then 3k.

Thank you for your time,

Craig Robertson

craig... you can't put a 951 engine in your car very easily or cheaply, plenty of posts on the subject. 95k miles on your engine is nothing, they are easily good for 200k and more with alil maintanance. Learn the engine you have and tweek it alittle, it's got plenty of power for what it's made for.

hey craig... I'm 17 too and have had a 83 944na for about 8 months... It has 185,000 miles and being well maintained by prev owner I feel it still has alot left in it... I make sure all maintainance is done exactly how it should be done... (a friend bought an 83 as a project car for $2000 and kept putting off checking the timing belt- it broke and cost him close to $2k to fix...) My point in saying that is if I were you I would keep your money... get that new clutch, and do some preventitive care work and have money left to handle the up-keep costs. I too dream of having the 951 power but I know the best and, in the long run, cheapest way to do it is to get a 951. So, it's just my opinion but, keep it 100% stock like I do mine and save up untill you can upgrade to a better car all together(even if you could put a 951 engine in that car I bet anything it will cause a long list of problems and that means $ out of your pocket).... I am working 5 days a week while in school and by summer I should have enough for a decent 86' 951 :-) Good luck with what ever you do.

Pat

I agree with what your saying about saving up money. Which is what I will probably end up doing. I found a nice 951 for a decent price also. Hope to hear from you soon.
