Relay Help
as i was upgrading my sound system in the car i noticed a empty relay holder behind the cd deck, anyone know what could possibly have gone there? as far as i know everything in the car is working with the exception of a/c but i was pretty sure that relay was behind the glove box. i looked through the workshop manual but it doesnt mention one behind the center console, so im gonna guess it was probly on either the left or right side behind the knee guard originally.

Relay holder
That is for the radio relay. Assuming your radio works when key is on, the radio has been rewired to use an alternate power source. I have been troubleshooting a power drain and found that relay to be draining my battery. When I removed that relay, my battery is fine. I will have to find another power source.
I have looked at many posts and haven't seen any one else with this particular problem with this relay. It is wierd that this relay is wired to be always powered and not switched by the key. Summary, the 2 relays behind the center console are for power windows and the original radio relay. |
