Dash Assembly Removed....Lots of Cleaning Needed
To help celebrate Memorial Day I removed the entire dash board assembly (plus A pillars, directional stuff, etc.), plus both front seats of my 85.5. So now there are lots of exposed wire bundles and ductwork - looks a little wild actually.
Lots of this under dash stuff is covered with a tan colored layer of what looks like a very fine dust - and its really stuck on. My goal now is to remove as much of this dust as possible, and likewise clean up all of the electrical contacts. For the electrical stuff I have some contact cleaner - but am wondering about the best way to go about cleaning the stuck dust off of the mostly plastic wire-covers and ductwork. Should I go with just dish soap - diluted in warm water - or maybe some Simple Green? What do you folks use to do this sort of cleanup? Thanks! |

Start with windex and if that does not work use progressively stronger soap and water solutions.
