91 944 Cab save from the Scrap Yard!!

Found this today, if I had to guess it looks like the scrap might be the best option but you never really know what you have until you can clean it up and get it apart.

As said about these cars many times...........you would send 20,000 for a 8000 dollar car. and that might be optimistic.

If anyone buys this I'll split costs on buying a few body panels!

If someone buys it, I'll initially call you an idiot and you can prove me wrong.

The guy sounds like he will take something just over scrap price. If it is an S2 someone could get at least $500 alone for just the front body panels if they are good. Scrap price on the car is just a couple hundred dollars. I don't see how it would be such a bad investment for someone local.

Exactly my point, you could break even selling the D90's if they clean up nice. Thats all I was saying. I wasn't talking about doing a full restoration...

The value is in the parts. Anything under a 1000 would work, but it may take some time to sell the parts. But it seems you have some takers already.

Well I have the money, I could make the time, I don't have the space during the winter months. But I know that this stuff comes and goes all year long so I'll just have to wait. I'm dying to tear one down just for the experience and try to part out the best I can.

This is a great purchasing opportunity(depending on price and what is included). All of you guys waiting for later will regret passing up on this one. Not that often that a rarer 944 model comes up for sale. A lot of the convertible specific parts are very short in supply and sought after....

that's a new photo. You could break even with the D90's and calipers.
If it was closer I would have already bought it.

WOW

That is a new picture, man that thing got into a fire fight and lost huh? The thing is still worth at least $300-500.

I seriously have no room for it right now. This isn't the 1st good deal on a parts car that i have seen so i'm not shedding any tears.

I posted in hopes that someone might see it and strip it, then scrap the rest and probably make a few bucks in the process, sounds like fun to me.

UPDATE: I just talked to the seller. It had an engine fire and the motor was pulled. there is a 16V motor that comes with it along with a replacement nose. he did not know if it was a 3.0L or not.

He said the owner is looking for $1000...

on that note I'll pass

It's a 3.0L. with engine included maybe $700ish is still a good deal. engine is worth that alone.

haha probably why it hasn't sold yet. Probably someone wanting just the 3.0l engine will buy it... i dunno
