hard starting, and what kind spark plug wires?
had a hard time starting my 944 this morning. I'd crank it for a while, and when it finally turned over, it would mis-fire for a few seconds, then be ok. It does that after not driving the car for a couple of days. I probably need new wires, cap, and rotor. It's been a few years since I last replaced them.
But, what's kind of weird is, it only does that on start-up on a relatively cold morning after not being driven for a couple of days. Could it be anything else? Also, does anybody have any wire recommendations? The ones that I'm replacing were braided wires from Automotion (back when they were around), and were cool. They were basically stock, but with white-colored braiding. I would like to go with something along those lines again. Does anyone have Nology?

I've got the Jacobs 8.5 mm wires in my 924 and 944. Work pretty well. You may want to remove the intake boot that connects to the throttle body and inspect the throttle body for build-up. Grab some intake/injector cleaner and spend some time spraying it down and wiping it out. I did this with my 944. It had so much build-up that when I was all finished and restarted the car, the idle had gone up 700-1000 rpm. There was a lot of restriction where the butterfly comes in close contact with the body when its closed.
