O-ringed heads - Question

Whilst I have the head off my motor I am thinking about having it O-ringed. From what I read there are a few options to consider regarding choice of gasket (std, widefire, copper) and actual position of the O-ring. I am not interested in copper gaskets but I would like to know how the o-ring is set up relative to the fire ring (gasket metal ring). Does the O-ring press down on the fire ring ? Or is the oring a larger diameter ring which presses into the fibre material of the gasket ?

What combination of gaskets & Orings are people using and are they having good results ?

Wayne

I believe the head is actually cut for the O-ring. As far as I know the O-ring is actually placed inside the widefire ring - thus effectively giving you a larger and stronger ring to prevent combustion from escaping the cylinder. BTW - I can not find the turbo papers at the moment - I thought I sent them to you by standard mail a while ago. One way or the other I'll get you the documentation even if we have to call TEC and get a receipt printed again. Good luck,
