Hello all. I'd like to know what the differences are between the 944 Motronic from year to year or what not?
Is there a website that has such information? Thanks, Steve M |

Basically, one has a removeable prom, the other does not. What are you trying to do?

Dont the proms have different sizes(or whatever the proper term is(like 4k 8k..or something)? Can someone effectively take an 89 ECU and swap it into an 85? Since the 85 also is has a removable prom? Do the functional differences effectively begin and end at the removable prom? Are there any websites that have schematics and stuff? Haynes has a simple schematic for the inputs/outputs nd the Porsche workshop books are probably a little more detailed. For custom programming your best bet is the software available from Protomotive - distrial.
