Lightbulb odd 84 944

I have an 84 porsche euro model shipped from Germany.

Thinking I had aftermarket side marker lights, I ordered a different set that looked normal as seen on all porsche 944's.

When I went to install them, I see where the body panels front and rear will not aqccept them. So, it appears what I thought were aftermarket side lights are actually German stamped and appear to be the originals.

I have pictiures of the lights if anyone is interested in seeing them to see what could possibly be made of these rectangular semi-oval sidelights that stick out from the body panels.

Thanks for any help in ID'ing this oddity.

Again mine is a porsche 944 1984 with no air, and no american rear or front bumper. Its all euro.

Thanks!

the pic of the orange light is what I am talking about. I have them in red on the rear identical design. They are stamped Germany.

Not sure what is going on with those lights, but they don't look factory, and that is an american front bumper....

I saw a euro 86 951 on cars.com with those lights. They must have been put on to allow it being imported.

hi chimetech, you have factory Euro front guards as evident by the side indicators behind the front wheel well. you have a factory US spec front bumper, and the side markers you are talking about are aftermarket items not factory ones. someone must have just added them for the car to comply on import.

We don't have them standards up here ,if you import let say a ROW from Japan there is no problem to register it even for RH drive (the only exception is the province of Quebec where since last year you can't register a RH drive unless it was register prior to 2010. So then how those guys owning 924 GT/S in the US go about getting their on the road.
