Porsche Crest Help! 1990 944S2 Alarm issues - it won't start!

At least I think it's the alarm module. Here is what is happening:

- Whenever I open the door the locks bounce up and down twice, annoying but could deal with it.

- The LED on the lock pull, driver's side blinks when the doors are closed and locked but the passenger LED stays lit - no blinking just on steadilly.

- The passenger door, when opened, never illuminated the dome light above the rear-mirror.

- I tried to hook up a remote door lock to the central door lock relay (two lousy wires) and, now, it doesn't work and the car won't crank over (it cranks, and cranks strong, but won't ignite).

Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong? I'm clueless and have already disconnected the remote door release. Even if the locks still bounce whenever I open the door that would be better than not having a car at all, right?

HELP!!!

First off.. Do not try to bypass the alarm with the jumper wires if it is the 928 part number. My old s2 did something similar, and I tried to bypass with jumper wires and melted some wires. I bypassed mine by pulling the cover off of the module. In there you will find what looks 2 big relays made together. I took an old credit card and cut it to where the card would slide in between the relay contacts. This bypasses the alarm to where the car will crank. Also before you do that try and check your door switch. it is tied into the alarm and if it is stuck in when the door is open it will make the alarm go all screwy on you. i pulled the fuse for the alarm horn and the fuse for the alarm and bypassed the module and never had another problem.

Thanks guys, I'm sure the door switch is shot and I'll try to bypass before doing anything else. If the car starts, I could care less about the alarm.

If you can think of anything else, let me know!
