another auto atlanta rip off!
so....
i ordered from auto atlanta a pair of tie rod ends, a tech book and a light bulb for my clock. they double charged me shipping, george a-hole said many times theyd get it back to me.. the bulb was crap, the arms werent long enough to catch into the socket, thats the crap thier selling.. they sent a bendover catolog in place of the tech book.. and after about 2 weeks george said they couldnt do the tie rods.. in the mean time no back pay for the over charge shipment and their replacement tech book i was charged for again! these guys are crooks, DO NOT BUY THERE! i contacted them, george/gary many times and it was to no use, they definetly ripped me off perposely. dont even bother with their book. maybe i can get it on a cd for free for everyone. and if these punks were on the west coast they would have been out of buisness a long time ago. have a nice day george!

sorry to hear about it, you should have posted here first and asked about them, you would have never ordered from them...i'm amazed they are still in business

I didn't know they were rip-offs. thanks for the heads up, i amlost bought those black trim peices for the sides of my 951 from them. They would have cost me $118 for each one. bastards...
now the only question is where do i get those peices from? (pelican doesn't carry them)

I have yet to have a problem with Auto Atlanta... I keep hearing bad things from their mail order stuff. I always go and pick up. They seem to be nice in the office, and George only sounds like an a-hole on the phone... He actually tried to talk me through 'slim jimming' my lock (heh, univ. police tried for an hour hehe).
Either way, I don't think I will ever order anything from them, but in house they are great...

their the only store that advertised the tie rods for 82 ea. and they couldnt deliver. actually i paid 140 ea tie rod assembly from some one else. 944 347 033 03.
they screwed me once before and i guess i was stupid for a moment when i ordered from the a-holes. even george that works there says the same thing about them but to him its just a job. anyways...

Auto Atlanta has been a bad place since at least 1997 when I bought my 1st 914. They were slammed on the 914 Renegade forums and it seems like ole George is up to his old ways.

Their tech book is worthless! I have learned MORE from reading the Pelican board than I have from their booklet.
Speedy- If you will get it to CD, once I find the book- I will mail it to you. Lynn I'd rather stick a hot needle in my eye than order from Auto Atlanta again.

UPS lost something Atalanta sent me and Atlanta tried to track it down and finally just sent me another. They really did bend over backward to make it right. This was on an ebay sale.

Did you ever actually see or track the 1st tracking #? I've been told that line before too; until I requested the orig. tracking #, then somehow the shipper couldn't find it but out of the goodness of their heart they'd ship me another one that day free of charge. Sounds like an excuse for "oops we forgot to ship it"!

Yep, had the tracking number, traced to hub and it stopped.. The second shipment got here and then a week later the first shipment showed up..

Called six times about a car they had for sale three of these as I was on the road to Atlanta from Va. Called morning after I got there and went over 30 minutes later Guess what? the car was not there nor were several other cars they had advertised , rode all that way with cash in my pocket for nothing but an education on bad people .
