Car wants to buck on decel. & quick jabs on the accel. pedal (trans. mount?)

The 951 is experiencing a bucking problem similar to that of what my 944 did when the clutch's rubber went, but not quite. The car, is absolutely horrible in first gear when just crusing to get out of a parking lot or something and I let off the gas, it goes "WOOMF!". At higher speeds/RPM's it doesn't do it near as much. I can manually move my transmission from side to side pretty easily. It almost feels like it wants to come out of 3rd & 4th gear when at high RPM's I let off the gas quickly... The mount has ~144K miles on it. What do you all think?

my 924S has the exact same problem and when i asked a porsche mechanic about it he said that my clutch semed to grab ok and that it could be some kind of oil leaking down into the it somehow, a broke spline (w/e that is) or the rubber clutch disk....i would investigate all 3.

I think I'm going to try to get a few opinions, get another porsche owner I kinda know (races 911's and stuff), then try to get a 'free' look at what my car is doing from a p-car mechanic, maybe let'em ride w/ me and show him, then let him drive, and if he can give me a pretty positive conclusion, I'll go from there...

My 944 did the exact same thing you describe. The rubber disc was going bad on it. I had it replaced and its been smooth sailing ever since. I wouldn't venture out too far in it unless you want to get towed.

Right, my 944 did this to, it's not the same feeling it's a little different. Besides, this 951 has a relatively new clutch in it, and it's not rubber centered =)
