Re-doing your shifter boot/knob with SEM color coat
Well folks I wanted to do this since I install my SC steering last year (which unfortunately is only available in black) & the oe shifter being grey it did look a little weird if you ask me.After removing the boot/knob I proceeded to tape the polymer Porsche logo with pin-strips tape so no dye will get on it.Then I stuff the boot with paper towels in order to remove any creases in the leather, afterward I fab a small stand with a standing wooden peg so that the whole shifter will stand up solid during respray.Prep before dyeing was done with__ TANA__ it's a must to do a good job (but warning this must be done in well ventilated area wearing breathing protection,a couple sniffs of that stuff & your gone).Once the Boot/knob was clean Lol like Dracula I impale the victime on the peg, first a ligth spray/& then two more afterward ,drying time in between sprays approx 15 minute.I'll let you guys be the judge with pics of before & after
![]() Color is Satin Black #15243 (SEM Color Coat)
