Want to manufacture rear hatch lock seal(for the pins)
I noticed that my car need the rubber seal/grommet that is in the rear hatch lock.(in red circle in picture) The lock that the pins sit into. There is a rubber piece that the pins rest on when the hatch is closed. My have fallen apart, as I see most peoples have. I think I have a place that will replicate these rubber pieces. I don't know the cost yet, I am guessing around $20 or $30 for a pair. I want to know if anyone else wants these seals too. If enough people want them then I can get an order together and make them. I should know more about it on Sunday. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks

Seem to remember that someone made a prototype of these in Delrin a while ago. Maybe on one of the other forums RW, RL?
I'll be in on a set but not in rubber please. |

Thanks for the info. I wonder if he ever made them, I will pm him to see.
9FF - Why not Rubber? I would think rubber would be better. It would work as a cushion.

Ok slow your roll,
I own a urethane company and manufacture polyurethane parts, Mostly aftermarket lift lower kits, If this is a no-Brain-r part, I can cast them out of urethane for pennies, there is no mateial hardly at all. urethane industry works on a 300% profit margin so if they are charging $20 it really cost about 1.50 or 2.00 to make, ill check it out but if someone has a good part I can make a mold from let me know , and it should only take a week or so to get finished parts out ![]()

The hatch pin seats are made out of Acetal(delrin), not urethane and are machined by a machine shop to the drawing that I made. I don't know a lot about urethane and I don't know how well urethane hatch pin seats would work, but they might work fine. I know the Delrin hatch pin seats work great. As for the cost, well, I wish they cost me pennies, that would be great, but they don't. If you have the time you should try making some out of urethane to see how they work.

The delrin seats work awesome. Took like 15-20 minutes to replace, and really the best part I think compared to before is how much easier it is to securely shut the hatch, and the nice resounding click it makes. "like new"
