Louden has been around a long time, they'll do a good PPI for you.
And they're only about a mile from where the dealer selling the car is located

Wow, beautiful find. I never used to like 968s, but I'd never seen a coupe in the flesh. The coupes won me over. I want one.

Ok folks, seems that I might actually buying the car above instead of the Texas 968. Its a better buy with years of service records for the same price as the Texas 968.
THANK YOU ERNIE |

Oh Porsche gods, grant me the strength to not come out of my skin waiting for a response from the owner of my 1994 (75k mile) 968.

The 968 hunt is done with nothing new in the drive way. My funds have been cut short due to unforeseen financial priorities. My GF needs her $$$ more than I do right now.
The $9000 range plus the shipping is 2 feet over my head at this point. Gonna be looking for a Turbo around the $5000-$6000 range w/o it being over 300 miles away. |

I already got in contact with Harvey about not being able to buy his 968. I didn't get a reply. I hope he isn't angry with me. I just couldn't take money from my GF knowing her situation was way more of a priority than buying the 968.
I got a guy in Conway SC that is selling a 86 Turbo for $6000 (1986 Porsche 944 Turbo (951)) but is gonna let it go to me for $5250. He sent me a few scans of 10k in service receipts. I'm gonna drive down there on Sunday and check it out. If it doesn't pan out, I'll give this 87S a look see. Thanks again Ernie!

One thing I've noticed over the years of buying used cars: Dealers never (or hardly ever) provide the new buyer with historical maintenance records. Probably because that info would probably scare off a new potential buyer or don't want to waste the time waiting for the buyer to go through it all. As far as Carfax is concerned, I take their info with a grain of salt. My wife and I bought a Boxster from a Porsche dealer with a clean Carfax only to find out after one of the new Michelin Pilots on the rear ground down to the cords that the car had been t-boned in the rear and had been repaired but the suspension hadn't been re-aligned. Thatshould have been on the Carfax. With any of these cars, if there's no documentation regarding belts, water pump or service history (including the 16valve chain guide) I'd plan on replacing them before too long. Don't want to throw water on this new aquisition that your and your lady bought, but if it breaks because of these items, it can become the source of a lot of "I told you so's". Good luck and have fun.
