BMW Roundel What is This White Plastic That's Leaking Coolant?

I have an '84 944 and this plastic piece is leaking coolant. The bolts are tight and it's not cracked as far as I can see, but is still possible. It's the part next to where the large end of the hose connects. What is it called and where do I get one?

That's the take-off for the turbo waterline.

There should be a blockoff stopper inside. Rather than buy a new one, if mine were leaking, I'd take it off and reseal it with silicon goop.

Lol why take a chance & use silicon goop on a very important part of the cooling system which only cost $6.50 & not replace with a new one. This is beyond my comprehension.

Hard to see in the picture with the bright light on it but It almost looks like the coolant is coming from the hose connection. But, if you're sure it's the plastic piece, the cheap O ring will fix it. If it was me, I'd get a new plastic piece that usually includes the O ring (but not always). They aren't expensive and I'm just a bit anal about stuff like that.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Thank You All

This is exactly what I wanted to know. I know this is the part that is leaking as I ran the motor and watched it drip. I'm also a long standing member of the Anal Brigade, so both parts will be replaced. Thanks again and HappyMotoring!

WATER PUMP FITTING 924S / 944 thru '88 / 944S (#4) at LINDSEY RACING - Your Porsche Performance Parts Center

Or if you are really anal and want a custom fitted replacement instead of using a modified turbo take-off try this: LR TURBO THERMOSTAT BLOCK OFF (#4) at LINDSEY RACING - Your Porsche Performance Parts Center

Because if you ordered your $6.50 part right now off Pelican, it probably wouldn't get here till next Monday. I'd rather stop the leak now than wait till next Monday. D'oh!
