Personally I never did store anything in the armrest anyway.

i thought about the console mounted cupholder, but the hinge on the console is very weak. i've replaced that piece three times now. i also like having the armrest.

as for the wedge, i never liked it, it was always in the way of the passenger, and it scuffed the leather after a while. cheap and reasonably effective if you drive alone, but pretty crude and clumsy otherwise.

it's amazing how significant this feature is here in socal.

FWIW, I keep a stainless 20 oz spillproof that fits perfectly between driver's seatbelt lock and right hip bolster... no runs, drips or errors. Rock on.

Nice idea Ernie. Be careful someone doesn't try to market it and call it their idea. LOL
I have the wedge and it is very handy and easily removed. I don't have passengers all that often.

Pretty nifty solution.

If you have the upgraded metal hinges, a medium DD cup fits perfectly in the factory cup holder location. Used it for years, never a spill.

I added a small bar so it holds the cup holder under the center console and tuck bottom under rug, easy in and out

Now, that's Canadian. Awesome!
When I go to Tim Horton's during work, my cup holder sits in the passenger's seat.

Are you guys kiddin! Must be a California thing..

These things are almost always useless unless you drive like a nanny and they always look crap as an aftermarket solution. I think there is something wrong with the combo of porsche and cupholders.

What's next - takeaway (takeout) hooks?

Iwondered about this style. It is basically at floor level right? I thought it would be too low to be of any real use.

I use it for stuff with screw on lids like, spitters, nestle pure life water, and vitamin waters and it hold just fine. I havent tried coffee cups, or cups from the McDonalds.

I store a wedge style cup-holder in my car that I bought at Wal-Mart for $5. Whenever I need it, I take it out of the back seat and wedge it in the passenger's seat.

But I really like the center armrest cup-holder idea, that's a great one! How long did it take you and what material did you use?
