Gas Line Recall
As a recent owner of an '87 NA, a recent thread that mentioned this recall caught my attention. I've dug up all the information I could find on the subject including the recall order (NHTSA #90V061000) from March 1990. Now I've got all this info but still don't know how to tell if my jumper line is the old (bad) material or has been replaced with the new version.
My hose appears to be in good condition but I can't see any part number on it nor does the recall notice give the old number. Based on your experience, would it be safe to assume this hose had been replaced at some point in the past 22 years or should I just play it safe and put the money and effort into replacing it. My gut says to play it safe unless there's a way to tell for certain if it's new but I thought I'd get some experienced input first. Thanks.

If the hose was upgraded by the recall, there should be a number on the hose:
Pelican Parts - Product Information: 944-110-413-02-M100 Pelican sell the hose or member Len will build one for you: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/658890-fuel-rail-jumper-hose-update.html If you hose looks damp on the crimps or has cracks ---replace. The same goes for the hoses to the fuel rail. You need the late 944 fuel hoses but the procedure is similiar. Many DIYs for the late fuel line hose replacement. This is for the early 944s & 924S. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/678798-fuel-line-replacement-924s-early-944s.html GL John

I gave my dealer my VIN number, and it showed in the computer it was replaced. Also, even if it was replaced in 1990 that was still 22 years ago, I would just replace it for piece of mind. It's easy to do, and I would rather pay $100, then a insurance deductible.

Expect an e-mail from me eventually... I'll be replacing all my fuel lines soon enough.
