Question Front Brake Rotors info..

I am looking to upgrade my 86. 944 n/a brakes.. I just bought the stainless steel braded lines and metal pads for the front..

1. Should I buy the Zimmerman Cross Drilled Rotors or the Brembo ones.. I prefer the Brembo ones. But is it worth the extra $50?

2. Is it worth getting new cross drilled for the rears or should I just get metal pads for them..

3. What are the "Blue" brake fluid called again ?

thanks...

1) personally i'd go with slotted before cross drilled. i've seen cross-drilled rotors crack before. if you get cross drilled, go for the cryo ones. better yet, if you want the best investment from the front brakes... save the money that you would have spent on rotors and invest them in some good brake cooling ducts. they will make the STOCK ones perform as good as if not better than the aftermarket cross drilled rotors.

2) rears? just get better pads. if you do anything to the rear rotors, just get them cryogenically treated and go with better pads.

3) the blue stuff? ATE Super Blue racing brake fluyid. great stuff!

good luck!

Obin, thanks for the reply. where do I find more info on the ducts? I use to race back home in "Modiefied Saloons" class with a 1980 535 Bmw with a 86 bore and 86 stroke.. but that was feels like a lifetime ago.. we fabricated then from fibreglass and steel mesh.. are there any of the shelf options out there..thanks again for the help.. regardign the slotted ones.. I agree that they are better but they do eat up the pads more from my experiance.. Also I am not able to find them for the "Right Price" if you know what I mean.. So it looks like I would have to settle for the cross drilled ones. I see that the zimmerman has more holes in them. but the Brembo's holes are fewer but bigger, so I will have to go based on logic. that tells me if the rotors are not cryo treated the ones with the most holes would be most likely to crack due to the stress between the holes. all be it might have better traction than the brembo. I am sure the brembo will run cooler..
