Woohoo..

I want to know how much you had to adapt to the charge amount given the smaller internal capacity of the new condenser. I know parallel flow condensers have a larger surface area, which is awesome, but how much to back off now. To 70% of what was recommended for R12?

If I were to guess, the longer hoses would probably make up the difference, correct? Just curious, it's not that I necessarily care, but some folks charge on amount and don't dial it in properly.

I do, and I can get 28 out of the vents with a stock condenser with 134a, ambient 90, and I won't have to replace the condenser should the compressor lock up.

It's a move I could take, and never have any issue. However, what are you going to tell these folks when their compressor takes a dump and they have to have a new condenser because the parallel flow can't be flushed?

Just saying man. I admire your work, great idea.

At least I'd have the backup OEM one.

The cars that I have personally installed the condenser on I charge it to the normal specification for r134 which is 75-80% of the r12 amount. I watch my manifold gauges carefully and also get about 28* coming out the vents. Even in the middle of a socal summer, the pressures are well within the proper range.

Should someone have a compressor fail, the condenser would need replacement. That said, the cost of the condenser by itself is only one part of the overall cost of what I'm selling here. Should replacement be necessary the end user could do it themselves by reusing the brackets and hardware I provide, for a very good cost.
