I'd say find someone or a company that cleans up houses or cars that people have died in (it's a real industry) and get some of whatever they use to eliminate odors.

I know I'm late in the thread. I had a used car salesman tell me years ago that they cut up a few apples, placed them in a bowl, set the bowl behind the front seats for a few days...smell was gone. Never tried it. If it's cold out, below zero, and the car is sitting out in it, a frozen apple is probably not the same in absorbing smells.

Vacuum and scrub. Then use an ozone machine or a steam cleaner and air everything out. For a professional job it would probably cost around $300.

Clean the carpets with carpet cleaner, let dry and vacuum with the vacuum at car wash, not yours. i have some alergies to mold, and this worked. The key is to remove or kill the mold, not to cover it up. Otherwise it will return.

Also if you have mold in your A/C you can spray lysol in to the fresh air intake while the blower is running to kill mold.

Ozone Generator is the way to do it. Many years ago, we had a vacation home that we had not visited for several months. During that time, a pin-hole leak occurred in a pipe in the wall and slowly flooded the floor and seeped up the walls. It was a warm climate and mold instantly grew. It was grotesque. Even after replacing all the drywall and flooring, the house still reeked of mold smell. Then the Ozone guys came, sealed the house up and left that ozone generator running for 24 hours. I was absolutely astounded at how well this worked. Not only did it remove the mold smell, but also the common smells of fresh drywall, paint and general pet and house odors that we tend to get used to. The place absolutely was fresh smelling after that and it stayed that way. Part of the remediation involved taking air samples before and after and having them analyzed by a lab to prove to the insurance company the mold spores were gone for good. A total success! One treatment did the trick!
