Selling a 924(asking opinion)

Hi guys

I have -81 924 2.0 liter.

It is about in good condition, it has a little surface rust in fenders and drivers seat has the fabric-vinyl joint ruptured.

One interested person offered me 1700euros (about 2204USD)
He explained the price with that he would come and get the car from over 300kilometers away and that, the car has only one set of tyres (new wintertyres with spikes)

I am asking 3000euros (about 3889USD)
That is just the asking price...
And the price is that, that the car can be driven in Finland( as it has checked in vehicle inspection station)

Is that too much or too less?

In here Finland has about four 924 in selling and their price is between 2000 euros and 3000euros

I cant speak to the market over there but I will say that the market in the US is not very good for 924's. Here they can be had for under 2000 USD. I see less and less of them as time goes on but the ones that do sell rarely fetch a high price. The 944 market has always kept the 924's from selling for too much, here you can get a 944 for 4000 USD in really good shape. If you post some pictures of the car people here may be more inclined to give you an accurate estimate.

Regards
Dave

I checked the 944 market here, there is nine 944 in market right now(in Finnish car sale webpage for consumer and the car dealers) .. cheapest is about 3700 USD and the highest is about 21000 USD and that one is -91 driven only 99000 kilometers..

And there is six 924 in market for now.. starting at 2600 USD to 7600 USD and that is with 2,5 liter engine

There are large differences in market price from country to country in europe so it's a bit difficult to determine a good estimate for your country.
Based on what you said i would put it at around 2.5k euro and be prepared to negotiate a little.
A friend of mine in Italy recently sold a two tone 924 in pristine condition for 2.5k when upper market asking price is about 4k for base 924's but even if asking price is high in Italy i know for a fact that the market for these type of cars is dead still at this moment so if you really want to sell you have to price it at less than half of what it would be worth.
These are the going prices in Italy for good transaxle porsches
924 2k-4k
931 4k-7k
944 4k-7k
944S 4k-7k
944S2 8k-10k
S2 cabrio 8k-13k
951 8k-12k

It depends very much on your own country's market .
