Linen vinyl dye?

Has anyone found a vinyl dye that's a good match for a linen interior? (Ernie, in three...two...one...). I'm swapping over a linen interior from a parts car into my black S2, but I don't want to deal with the agony of swapping dashes, so I'm thinking to dye the bottom of the black dash.
Thanks!

yes SEM sure-coat has a great match for that !
find a SEM jobber in your area and look at the color chips or you can email SEM and order the chip cards from them .
i have used sure-coat on black seats and dyed them light gray . it was for a car that was driven every day of the week for the last 6 years and you still can not see any black coming thru . just make dam sure you don't get any on some thing you don't want it on you will never get it off !

you can dye or coat any thing !
if your using a product like sure-coat over a plastic it will be a coating were if you use it on a porous materail like vinyl or leather it will soak into the serface .

That's what I was hoping to hear. I've had great success with SEM over the years, but it's hard to tell looking at their little color chart on my laptop if the match is good. Thanks!

If you still have any of the Linen seats out, cut a small piece off on the bottom to match up the Sem Coat Vinal Paint Color. The colors will never match looking at them on your laptop screen. OR order the color patches as suggested above.

Cheers,
Larry

Alfadoc I don't think you will get a match from SEM not according to their color chart,Linen is a very difficult color to match and not very many peoples have succeed in doing it up to date using SEM.You migth want to try these peoples here leather repair kitswho has the specific Linen Porsche dye which is # 923.944S2 w/linen interior GL

When I recovered my dash, I used the SEM to change the color of the bottom from black to the linen. I'm more than satisfied with the results and that dye does not want to come off the black vinyl at all. Is it an exact match? Probably not, but none of my friends can tell the difference, I can't either.

Follow the directions they have posted on their website and you should get the same results.

if you can't match colors than yes any color will be hard to match ! 99% of the people that paint cars for a living can't do color matching .
i have used the sure-coat 100's of times in fact so many times i have there system in my shop . i have used the sure-coat 3 times for the linen color with good results on the color match every time .
sem also makes two other lines of dyes they are of a lower grade and do not have as many chips to look at as the sure - coat system .

email sem and get the chips of go down to your jobber and look at them . if the car has some age to it they can tint the color if needed . that is the hole point to having a system weather it being a automotive paint system or a interior coating system .

there are things called dyelots that do differ for the int. coatings of cars it is the same for the ext. coating of a car that is called variants .
if every color was dead nuts every time you would not need things like that .
