Rebuilt my throttle body

So... It took me five hours but I rebuilt the throttle body and replaced the TPS. It feels like the engine "revs more freely" and accelerates better. Seems like I am getting a bit more power with less use of the pedal. Does that make sense or is it cognitive bias in my imagination? What positive results should one expect from these two procedures. Also my idle is now rock solid at about 950 RPM, it used to randomly wander a little bit. When driving if I went to neutral the RPM would drop to 1,000 then to 950 when stopped. Now it goes straight to 950? I didn't even take pictures of the seals I removed. I couldn't. It took an hour or two with a pick to get everything fully out really. It was a goopy disintegrated mess and the o rings came out in micron sized pieces. How frustrating.

Nice job!

When I did mine, I was surprised how bad the throttle shaft "O" rings were.

I peened the screws very carefully on the shaft.

John, when you rebuilt yours was there a lot of oil/gunk/sludge in and around the seals and inside the TB?

I had a little, then I replaced the AOS seals +"O" ring on the dip stick + new clamps on hoses under the intake plus a few WYAIT items and all is dry and clean now.

Dried out/leaking AOS seals will cause an oil deposit on the TB.

Next project?

Yes. I can't believe the total is $41 for three o rings and two small hoses.

Yes, if you had a leak, it could make quite the difference.

Did you buy that Arnnworx kit? I've been meaning to do this but the TPS assembly on the S is a B*TCH to work on.
