Windshield wiper question.

On my 944 S2, I'm trying to put my wipers on. The pass. side works fine, but when I put the driver's side on, it "lifts up" and won't cover the windshield. When I clamp it down with the nut, it lifts up for some reason. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong or ideas? Thanks.

Just a thought, could be the wiper arm itself is bent.

No, not bent. I'm stumped as it floats up, off the window when I accelerate or when air gets under it. It's attached just like the pass. side.

I thought I read a post that the springs that hold it to the windshield get weak and causes what you are experiencing. Found it

One of the reason they went with double springs on the 968s wiper arm,see pic.

Thanks to all for the help. I'll go out and see if that's the problem. New springs might be in line.

Make sure the arm is not cocked on the stud.

just find a heavier spring at your hardware store, I'm pretty sure porsche will charge you 15 bucks for just one and then tell you it is no longer available....

No, the springs are not the problem. Checked them and they're strong. Shaft not bent. Just on the drivers side---can't figure out why. Oh well, on vacation next week, things will have to wait.
