Hella H4 Halogen headlamp upgrade
I noticed my headlamps getting a little dim, I saw pelican parts has the H4 halogen upgrade. Is it worth upgrading or should I just replace with the original bulb?

It could be something as simple as the grounds if your headlights seem dim.
I think the closest grounds to the headlights are on the frame rails right behind the lights.

Upgrade is well worth it

Step one, set up the harness and relays, this alone will brighten your headlights. If you still want more, step two (H4 upgrade) will be easy.

The biggest improvement you will see is installing a headlight harness with relays like Rasta said. Measure the voltage drop at the headlight plugs and you will probably see it around 12v with the car running (should be 14v), 2v drop at the plug is like a 30% reduction in output from the bulbs.
Rennbay makes a nice 'plug-in' harness that is easy to install. This is the single best thing you can do to improve the light output.

I have a pair of headlight conversions that were installed in a parts car. They're not purple, it was just the mixed light that played with the white control on the phone camera.
Uses H4 bulbs... $40 shipped ![]() ![]()
