944 coolant leak?

1983 944 is leaking fluid that drips from the front end of the cat converter. I'm thinking coolant from a heater hose. Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

The rubber coolant pipe at the back of the engine is toast. It runs from the heater control valve to the metal coolant pipe that runs over the exhaust manifold. Change the HCV at the same time and cover the hole in the bell housing before you do any work back there. GL

I'm currently replacing all my coolant hoses.. there's about 20 of them...about 7 of them may cause a leak in that area, take your pick

Most certainly one of the two rubber coolant hoses that connects at the firewall behind the engine, or the heater control valve.

This is also where the condensate drain is for the AC.
