Something leaking from underneath
I jacked my car up today and it started dripping and running from underneath. It's coming from a small hole on the "support" beam? that run's along the underside of the body.
It seems to run more when the car is almost leveled. I tried smelling, and tasting it. Mostly water, has a faint yellow color. At first I thought it might be coolant. I'm running water and hy-per lube. But it's not coming from the coolant overflow hose. And none of the other hoses appear to leak as far as I can see. What's underneath there that could leak? Could it just be water trapped from when I hosed down the underside a little over a week ago? The car has been on jack stands since then, on the front. I'll be doing some more investigating, but if anyone has experience this, or know what might run under there that could leak like that. Let me know. It's filled up that cut up bottle pretty good, and there's more on the ground before I got the bottle. ![]()

Frankly my dear....

Hi. This is probably as you suspect - just water trapped in the various chassis rails and other closed body structures. It can be quite alarming and usually starts to be evident when you jack the car up in some way. I was getting a lot of this when I did extensive work on my 'S'. Once I had worked out what it was, it was only inconvenient when working underneath!

Good things is that Porsche treated the body with Galvenizing process to limit rusting.
