Value of 89 S2
Took a quick look at a 89 S2 at dealer near me. It is in pretty good condition, have not gone to PPI yet. It has 130k miles, no obvious defects, what price range is reasonable for S2's with that mileage, dealer is asking $10.9
Car is at Pch preowned in Los Angeles Thanks for any thoughts Len |

Coupe or Cabriolet? Good ones are going for like 8-13k in CA. 10k is probably a fair price if it's in nice shape and has good records.

It is coupe. Thanks for reply. Given that it is at a dealer, I suspect records will be limited to carfax, it is one owner, would probably do timing belt and water pump
Thanks for price range info Len |

![]() ![]() ![]() 130k miles is a little high for 11k IMO At that mileage and history I'd do the belts, tensioner pads, water pump, diff carrier bearings and seals, and whatever else needs fixing before driving it much. |

1989, 130K miles, no records? If it were a private sale wouldn't it go a lot lower than that...?
The dealer only has to warranty it for a few days, but you have to live with it for, well, as long as you can live with it.

As I said it's going to be based on the car's condition and maintenance history which we don't know. You do have to pay more from a dealer generally but if it's really clean I can see 8-10k. Especially in CA where prices are higher. I'm assuming it's pretty perfect cosmetically if the dealer took it

By all means haggle the price down. I'm sure it's not selling in a hurry.

It's in average condition for 130K miles from the pics - driver's seat bolster is shot, for instance, and the stone guards are yellowed. No way at 10.9, but I would never buy a P-car from a dealer, either.

Dash cracked too? Didn't see the car there haha on my phone. Yeah I think you could get a better deal from an enthusiast. If you're looking to spend that much you could get a really nice low mileage S2 or turbo or even a 968 if you spend a couple thousand more.
