I need help with stall on a 924 please

Hi all, i am an enthusiast and always wanted a classic Porsche, i got a $500 deal on a 924, pretty good shape. Let me tell you what happens to it, i hope you have some ideas, i'd really appreciate any help, in USA the limitations and cost of parts for these European beauties are high.

Problems: Car does start great, after 3 minutes or so it stalls and can't be accelerated, stays on on idle only. Cylinder 4 not firing, new spark plug, new cable, new cap, spark tested and gapped correctly, injector shooting great.

Things replaced: Fuel pump, spark plugs, fuel distributor, vacuum lines, all ignition related items.

i belive thet you don't have prasuure(fuel) right for the engine warm up.

When you start the car the fifth injector works and give +fuel
When it warm up probably the warm up regulator close the fuel(pressure) and you have a lean mixture(for running)

Look the warm up regulator,on the bigger bolt you have a sort of filter, usuly it is opstrukted after 30 years.

Did you change the fuel filter-can be the same problem.
The fuel acumulator or the line is opstructed?Fuel pump?
-maybe the fue pump is not for CIS-if you have a STD injection fuel pump it pump 3,0 cca BAR.The CIS pump have minimum 5,0 bar.

Try.Good luck.

You might try searching/posting on the 924Board.org :: Index as that is where the majority of the knowledge around the 924 and its CIS system is concentrated around.

As for your #4 problem, I'd verify that your lifters are adjusted properly and that you have good compression on all 4 cylinders.

my 924 came with a bad exhaust valve and I've seen a couple of others with the same issue.

Your vacuum and intake systems are vitally important, make sure there are no vacuum leaks before making CIS adjustments.

Good luck!
