What's the trick with these heads? Don't they bolt to a 3.0 block so you can build a 3.0 8v (turbo)?

I've seen people try to sell good condition ones for $1800 and they seem to languish around on the market.
If you want a faster sale, and it is in good condition, some where in the $800 to $1100 range should get it sold.

That's the deal but some folk have just used a 2.5 head recut for the SS intake valves that you can now get in the 2.7 size (47mm). SS valves are dirt cheap compared to the stock 2.7 valves and you can get them in a bigger 48mm size also.

But I thought the 2.5 head did not match up to the 3.0 block?

You are right, my bad. Forgot about the water passage as erredas clarifies below. I was looking at 2.5 blocks bored to 3.0 with a modified 2.5 head.

The 2.5 liter head does not bolt to the 3.0 liter block. The water passage near where the temp sensors are is very different.
