what is this part for?

on my 87 944, Under what I believe is the the powersteering pump there is two electrical prongs that are sticking out. Obviously something is supposed to be attached to it. I have nothing but these exposed brass colored prongs.. what is supposed to go there? what is it for?

Not the best description of what I am talking about, but perhaps someone will know what I mean and what this is.
I can get a picture of it tommorow if need be.

I can hazard a guess, but that is all it is...Does your oil pressure gauge work?

The switch sends a signl to the DME to control the idle when the power steering is operated to prevent the engine cutting out at low engine speeds when parking or similar. Only 944S (16 valve)models have this so if you have a 944 8 valve then someone installed a 944S pump. Apart from the switch, the pumps are identical.
