Talking S2 engine swap

Hi. I am in the final stages of the engine and transmission swap from a 1990 S2 into an 89-944 automatic.
Done: engine, transmission, pedals, radiator, front wiring harness etc.
Problem now is getting it to start. I did a lot of research and trials.
I discovered the ECU is bad. Got a used one.
Now I have power at the coil, igniter at the left front headlight, power at the 14 pin connector at brake booster. I get power at the 14pin connecter at the passenger foot well only when I jump the DME 30 87 and 87a. Still no start.
The 89 2.7 interior wiring harness does not have the receptacle for the 14 pin connecter at the passenger foot well. Research indicates that 14 pin connector only powers the tach and oil pressure light.
Here is the question: instead of pulling the HVAC to remove the front interior wiring loom, is there any way I can rewire the harness to make the tach work and turn off the oil light?

Installing a S/S2 engine into an 8V chassis is much more difficult than installing the 968 due to the wiring. I tried to do the same thing a few years back and in the end decided it made more sense to go with a stand alone EMS to solve the wiring headache once and for all.

Check this out, it's what I used to swap a 968 into my 944S-
944/968 Engine Swap Wiring Changes
You are using the S2 flywheel and bell housing, right?

Yes I have seen that link as well as many others.
I am doing a complete swap. Engine, new clutch set, bell housing, transmission, etc. The only thing I have not changed yet is the wiring loom inside the car.

Shouldn't have to change the car's harness. Just make some adapters to get the power the DME needs and your dash signals...

I am still digging into this.
I realized I am not getting any power at the 14pin connector at the brake booster to pin 1-5. The 89- wiring harness had the alarm bypass. I unplugged it and forgot how to bypass it. I think if I can bypass it properly then I should get power. Any thoughts? I've tried various bypass methods ala Clarkes and Rennlist and here to no avail.

Update. I pulled the interior from the gold car and put it in the red 951, dash and all. It wasn`t until I got it apart that I realized the gold car has split folding rear seats that are not easily installable into the red 86 which has a single bench rear seat. So that means it has to come out and the blue interior from the parts car must go in. That means replacing the burnt fabric center sections. Ill go with black dash top, blue lower pads, blue door cards, and blue carpets. Ill trim the seat centers in black.
I pulled the entire interior wiring harness out of the parts car and the gold car. This weekend the gold car gets the factory S2 wiring harness and its original interior back. The red car with get the blue interior.

Did you get the fuel injector ballasts? The car won't run with out that. When I did the swap that held me up. Once I figured that out it was all down hill
