Another water leak...

OK I will start off by saying I did search and couldn't find a definitive answer to my problem. Also a detail about my car: FACTORY NO SUNROOF.

I have the passenger rear footwell pooling with water.

This summer, I fixed the battery tray so that leak should be gone.

It only leaks during HEAVY rain, which is about once a month. I thought it was the gas fill drain, but after testing (with a hose, not looking during heavy down-pour) I couldnt see anything.

I heard that another place to check is the rear quarter window? Mine looks like it is in great shape, but is this common?

here is the fill drain, seems to be draining normally. any thoughts??

if it was the window seal the door card would be soft/warped/ruined

back there, check the seal around the small little side window.

Has the car an aftermarket aerial on the roof? Also I had a leak before that drove me mad... It turned out that the seals are u seals that go over the body edges. It was through capillary action travelling up and around the body under the seal....

Sunroof drain rubber lines have a tendency to shrink in length over time and thereby pulling themselves free of the metal tubes at the lower end. You need to replace with longer hose or splice a short metal tube somewhere in the main length of the hose.

Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

hmmm... not really sure what you mean on this. The car doesnt have a sunroof, and from what I can tell it is completely stock and un-changed.

If I took a wild guess, I would think it was your hatch that is leaking. How is the delamination at the top of the glass? Try your hose test there.

Your door does have drains at the bottom, and if they are clogged, you could get a pool of water, but you could hear it sloshing when you open and closed the door. Take out the vent you have pictured and reach in to see if it is wet.

Good call on the vent. I couldnt figure out which way to push/pull the tab to release is so I will revisit that.

The scoop on the hatch: It is delaminating slightly at the top, however I am almost positive it is not this. I put my hose over the hatch... A TON of water on the location and the headliner, carpet, and underside of the glass were bone-dry. Still working on it but thanks for all the help so far!

remove the little side window and the trim panel under it carefully and look for wet spots/water damage...
