I've not got round to fitting the chip yet, burnt all the 89 out over the weekend and then my wifes car died Monday (fuel pump, actually the fuel filter separated internally and took out the pump?), so we are relying on the 944 as a daily driver until Autozone gets the correct parts in.
Hopefully have something to report Tuesday as her car should be repaired by Monday at the latest. |

After saying I was going to wait until my wifes car was fixed, my impatience got the better of me and I installed the chip this morning.
Having never had a wilks chip I cannot compare the two but the chip I got off ebay has made a nice improvement to the performance of the car. It now pulls nicely to around 4500rpm and if anything it actually pulls stronger after 3000rpm. I did not try to go any higher up the rev range as I still have not replaced the shift stabilizer (going to drop the trans, overhaul it and pour a solid mount so that will take a bit of time) it rattles like crazy at high rpm's so I cannot hear what the engine is doing. Anyway all in probably the best mod on an n/a for the money, I'm certainly happy with it, from a standing start it broke the wheels from first to second that was a surprise on a dry road. |

Have you been able to throw this chip on a emulator to see what under the hood? Sounds like a very inexpensive alt to $300 chips for our cars

I don't have access to an emulator at the moment, and buying one would defeat the purpose of getting a cheap chip.
I will try to borrow one and see what it does when I find someone with one. Same thing goes for getting it on a rolling road. |

How's your idle, smoother, better, or somewhat the same/indifferent?

Nice, I am glad to hear that it worked well and didn't induce fatal knock or ping.
I guess I paid a but too much for my "authentic" chip. My idle is rock steady on 850. I get none of the dip taht others talk about when going off throttle. I'm not breaking the tires loose on shifts, but I am also at 5500 feet of elevation. Each car will be different. I did notice that even the cheap chips went form $30 to $40 on fleabay right after we started talking about them. |

Idle seems smoother although my idle air control valve needs replaced so maybe its just wishful thinking.
And its been crazy hot here so I've had the air con on which due to the AIC means it idles low, its on my list. I doubt that anyone who bought an authentic chip overpaid as they will get piece of mind and customer service. Breaking loose is just the hooligan in me seeping out, that's why my wife won't get in a rear wheel drive car with me in snow. Actually this year I managed a 4 wheel drift in her 4x4, didn't go down well. My chip comes with neither but for the money was worth the gamble. |

Heh, brothers from another mother. Rear wheel steering was the hallmark of my youth as a mullet-haired Camaro drivin' hooligan from Lancaster.
My GF and I rented a 2015 Mustang in Seattle, last weekend. She is a bit of a nervous, worrier type. She was not impressed when I turned off traction control and started sliding through back road turns. Looking forward to Colorado winter hoons in the 944. |

Drove to the dealer today to get window rubber clips around a 30 mile round trip..
Car drove great with the new chip, exhaust note seemed quieter at speed and had good acceleration from 60mph - 80mph. |
