Question Clutch pedal sticks to the floor...

1986 944 Base - Anyone have issues with the clutch pedal sticking to the floor and after replacing the return spring it solved the problem? or is this the beginning of a larger problem?

Something is wrong with your hydraulic system.

Look for a puddle of brake fluid under your bell housing.

Look for a "mysterious" disappearance of brake fluid from your reservoir.

Replace both slave and master cylinders at the same time.

Google "944 clutch slave cylinder bleeding", it can be a real pain to get all of the air out of the system.

Thanks.

I replaced the slave cylinder 4 years ago. Should I try replacing the master cylinder first or replace both like recommended?

Do you feel lucky? Do you have a lot of time to get this repaired? Do you have extra money to give to your mechanic?

The answer to your question is hidden in the answers to my questions.

Looks like I'll do both. Appreciate the input.

Correct, do both while you are at it.

Air in the system.
Vacuum bleed, or power bleed. If it leaks replace both at the same time.
4/5 years is all I would get out of a Clutch master/slave when DD my old N/A

Thanks guys. What's the best way to bleed the system to see if there's any leaks?

Motiv Power Bleeder is the best.

I created my own using a pesticide sprayer. One of those air pump ones...

+1.

Power bleeder makes it a very simple one-man job.
