Question on a 944 auto trans connector

I am installing a 1989 944 automatic transmission in my 1988 924, was told by several it will fit and work. Everything looks like it will HOWEVER the 944 unit has an electrical connector I think for the speedometer. I will add a picture when I figure out how to make it smaller. Hoping a more experienced Porsche enthusiast can confirm that by not plugging anything in it won't matter. Thanks in advance.

The speedometer connector is the only electrical connection I am aware on the 944 auto trans. Tranny will work fine without this being connected.
