Getting rid of the A/C
I know there are kits to get rid of it. Do i NEED the kit, i figure just take all the components off and get a shorter belt right? What ALL comes off including the condensor and compressor? Does the kit put a free rolling pully in place of the compressor so the same belt is used? I dont really understand why the kit comes with that factory bracket....help please!!! thanks alot guys!

I think the kit does more then that. The belt tension is adjusted by pushing the compressor out. If you take the compressor out then the alternator will need to be floated and used to tension the belt. This means you will need a new alternator support bracket and a new belt. However, I don't know how safe is to discharge the cooling gas without the help of a air conditioning specialist?
