Porsche Crest Clutch problems!! Help

I was driving down the freeway today and noticed the clutch in my car was all the way down to the floor and stayed there. I stop and check it and it only has a little play at the bottom (like normal). The car drives totally fine. The clutch still feels normal for the normal disengage part of clutch. I can still drive. But the clutch won't come up all the way.

I pump the clutch a few times and it feels like it has a little more spring, but I'm totally non-machanical so I don't know whats going on. Like I said, the clutch still functions but won't come back up off the floor without me doing it manually. And ideas guys?

Porsche Crest

Check for leaks from the master cylinder and slave cylinder. The master usually would show some leaking at the clutch pedal, but not always. The slave is under the car next to the starter. It might be that you just need to bleed your system, but most likely it's time to get a new master and slave. There's lots of posts on how to do it.

You can't always go off of the ! light. I just rebuilt my master cylinder and my ! is still on. I hate idiot lights, I need to replace my sending unit (or so I'm told).

Actually about 2 months ago I had the brake fluid go down. I topped it off and have had no problems since. Does this mean I need to bleed the system probably?

Are you leaving a puddle of brake fluid when you park?

how about on your carpeting under the clutch pedal?

if yo are not - you have air getting in somewhere - -rebleed.

leaking: master and slave time.

Gearhead: did you reset the switch on the reservoir cap? the rubber center of the cap is a switch to reset the brake fluid light.

no correction: look for other causes of the light and/or rebleed your brakes & clutch
