Idle air valve
Guys, I am still having an idle drop off issue/shudder, even after checking for leaks and what not.
This all started after I had the intake off to replace the seals, and to bypass the old cyclic valve. My question now is can you install the idle air valve backwards? I remember seeing an "arrow" on one side of the housing. Should the arrow be visible on the front, or facing the engine block? I can't in my mind figure out how this would matter, but maybe it does. Also with the cyclic valve bypassed, did I mess something else up? I just ran the bypass, I did not unplug the electrical connection.

The cycling valve is essentially a 3 way valve. One of the ports is a vent to relieve pressure from the wastegate diaphragm by relieving the pressure (metered air) back into the j-boot. Also, since the j-boot pressure is always at or less than atmospheric pressure, any negativity helps keep the wastegate closed. Rob

I cut the line going from the J-boot to the hard fitting, then plugged it with a bolt and and a hose clamp.
