So finally got the 944 back from the shop, they adjusted the shifter linkage and they said all is well.. Well when I went to go pick it up first of all I can find all the gears now which is.. Great. The only problem is now first and second gear doesn't seat well
by that I mean when I put it in first it doesn't feel like it's all the way in gear and when I go I can go like 5mph before it sounds like it needs to be shifted.. So basically I need to go from first to third ad break lights...Also now I'm getting a ton of noises that I didn't hear before all this loveliness happened. Sounds like when I'm shifting into gear I can hear like the gear bouncing or something like booowowoww(I know perfect interpretation) and my shift knob won't stay tight... ![]()

Pop the shifter boot and make sure the two bolts that hold it down onto the torque tube are tight. Sounds like the whole thing is flopping around.

a new shifter and linkage from only944.com has an amazing tightening effect on these transaxles. I think every 944 should have one.
