What bell house do i use for the LS1? the kit came with a plate. will it fit the 944 house? or do i have to get a chevy bell house? & if so can i get any v8 bell house or just the C-5..? by the way the C-5 kit comes with it's own plate. so what plate is the basic kit? can any-1 help?

C5 is the main one, and the one the kits were designed for.
you could use another BH but you'd be on your own for torque tube adapter.

Or you can buy the one made especially for the job...

Yes you need one of the bellhousings I mentioned above.
The 944 piece does not work for the V8.

The kit uses a C-5 BH and an adapter plate to bolt the C-5 BH to the 944 torque tube.
The bellhousing I linked to above made by Quicktime directly adapts the V8 engine to the 944 torque tube - no extra plate needed.

Jon aka Techno Duck did a complete LS swap and documented it here on Pelican. Search recent posts - He is a very knowledgeable guy and has helped many, including me on this board.

Good luck with your build.
