Stoptech brakes - Parking brake?

So I purchased a BBK with four ST-40 Stoptech Calipers and 13"/14" rotors.
I have not begun the install yet, but I don't believe the parking brake will work with these...
What have people done that have purchased BBKs that don't have this option?

can you return the kit?
im sure there was good reasoning but having looked up that caliper that's an absurd price for a brake kit, IMO...especially one that doesn't have a parking brake.

a 951S already has 12" rear rotors and you can upgrade to 928GTS 13" front rotors pretty easily and get off-the-shelf adapters to run the 928 calipers or any of the variety of Wilwood calipers that are about $130/each.

if this is for your NA you can swap the turbo stuff over or just use the Wilwood caliper adapters from wagenswest (VW place) to bolt up to the NA spindles.

My 951S was downgraded to 86 brakes by a previous owner.
86 brakes can't be rebuilt without paying 800ish dollars, and they aren't worth it.
I got this kit for $1100, but was hoping to make rears work somehow...
I'm basically starting from a scratch 86 setup

well thats a weird change!
better price than i was imagining...

86 should still have 12" rear discs at 24mm wide so you could use these brackets (seen in the picture, call to order) http://www.wagenswest.com/partstore/index.php/disc-brakes/rear-disc-kits/porsche-rear-disk-kit-with-e-brake-custom-oem.html

and adapt this caliper (with the right piston size and disc width, PN available in catalog)

i wonder if the adapter I have will work with the OE rotor then... and ill have to check on size, maybe theyre 14/13? these look bigger.
I think the first thing I need to do is pull the current setup off and mount these just to see how it all fits up, and go from there. i just couldn't pass up the deal on these, so it would be nice to make them work =p
im sure the fronts would be fine. i guess ill have to wait until i have some time to start working on this to really figure out the best route

Have you considered a manual line lock. It should not be too hard to plumb it into the cabin. You could use it before the T and lock both rear calipers at the same time.

(An electric one would tend to drain the battery while not running.)

never heard of this... hm.
the only concern of course is using this with hot brakes after a run, and having them glaze. and it sits on a trailer when its not in use, so usually E-brake is on, and battery is disconnected... but if theres a manual one? hmmmmmm

The JEGS unit says it's not recommended to be used as an emergency brake. This may be to cover their rears legally and using it would be OK. Down side with a hydraulic parking brake is a slight leak or failed seal can render it useless, especially on a car that sits for long periods.
