Tappets good or bad
Hey everyone new guy here......thanks for having me!
So I have a question about tappets in the housing (996-104-042-05) On the intake tappets (99610525525) I can slightly push 4 of the down moving about 1/8” and 2 I can’t push down at all. So basically I’m trying to figure out which are bad and which are good. As for the exhaust tappets (99610504172) none of them will push down, so are they good or bad...... I’m baffled! The lifters you CAN push down have probably just drained out, meaning the oil inside giving you the hydraulic nature is no longer there. If you took a small oil hand pump and pumped oil into them, they'd feel hard. The lifters will only work correctly when being supplied with the proper amount of oil at the necessary pressure.
