944 front bumper question

New to the 944 scene. My son and I picked up a 83 944 and it needs a front bumper.
What model years do I need to look for? Its missing all together less shocks but looks like it had the head light washers?

Any 944 model year will fit, they were all the same. Only the turbo and S2 had different bumpers. You might find it difficult getting one with the headlight washers though as they were not a common option.

While at it may I suggest doing a front shave bumper mode & install some real driving ligths (not those so call original candles) on my ex 83 944 I install some clear lens Bosch ) see pics.Rear was a fiberglass bumper from AIR.

What fog lamps will fit down there in the factory spot? I would love to put some "real" fog lamps down there, or perhaps some driving lamps. Thanks.

Lol Doug it's been many years since that mod was done ,but here we go I,ll try to re member some of it.Ligths use were Bosch Pilot clear lens.you have to keep half of the original pod ,don't quiet remember if I cut those in half? the pilot goes inside the oe pod.The pilot come in three pieces (main)& two pieces that screw in (see pics) of course you will have to do a little wirering.I'm sending you a bunch of pics so you will have an idea how I went about it The advantage of this mod are first you got lot brigther ligths secondly you don't have to go under the car if you need to chance bulbes I,ll say it's a 10 minutes jobs changing boths bulbes.Good luck.take your time & do a neat job.

Nice - thanks, Ernie. I see how that would work out well. I'm looking for a pair of serious lamps to jam down there and somehow be able to properly aim them as well. Might check the Hella website and find something I can fit. Probably a good idea to call Daniel Stern as well... That's where I got these absolutely stellar Koito H4 headlamps.

To aim them you will have to install shims, I use washers behind the oe pod.
