83 throttle sputter

I just replaced my 83 Na with a universal o2 sensor and now when I give it some decent throttle it boggs down then picks up real quick.. It does this also when I shift from first to second and demand power.. any ideas?? does the mixture need to be tunes??could it be connection??

I'm assuming it was not stuttering before you changed out the O2 sensor? I recently had the same problem with my car, I changed out the O2 sensor w/ a universal...no change.. I then changed the spk plugs, and viola! Ran smooth.

I keep it at 900 rpm.. I bought new acdelco rapid fires then I bought the new O2 universal bosch sensor..?? and it ran smooth with the old sensor.. but when this one is not bogging down u can feel the difference....
