Those look like 968 base wheels not Cups.

No, they are 16" Cups, we're also referred to as "Star-Fish", and were the base model wheels for not only the 968, but the 964 as well. This set is from a 964

These also look good on a 924S and 5 lug 931s.

Per the linked article, the 16" wheels were "Cup style". The 17" wheels were Cups.

FWIW, from the article-

In 1992, the Design 90 was replaced by five spoke cast aluminium rims (Cup Style). These were made available in 16" to 18" sizes with widths from 6" to 10"

So, a number of us mere mortals have referred to these as Cup 1 wheels. The article is clear that there is no differentiator based on terminology based on wheel diameter.

16", 17" or 18" - it makes no difference. Cup style, or Cup 1 appear to equally applicable descriptions per the article cited. Same applies to the terms used for Cup 2 wheels.

I note that there are specific descriptors out there that do differentiate between a 16" and a 17" 5 spoke Aluminum alloy wheel and the term used to describe them - but there is no titled difference in the PET.

Regardless, IMHO there is no ill intent on the seller to misrepresent his articles.

They're also called Design 92 Wheels. I wasn't aware of them until I picked up a set a couple of weeks ago for my 87 S that has been hibernating for the past 6 years
