Parting 1983 944 and a 1983 944 project.
I am starting to part a 1983 944. The engine blew a head gasket and the interior is pretty rough. Champagne extrior with a brown interior. Good tranny (when last driven), complete suspension and brakes for those VW converters, good manual rack, and many other parts.
Just to list a few other parts I have: Good DME (1983) Factory phone dials that can be re-finished to your color choice. I will have them stripped and powder coated to your color choice (red, black, yellow, factory silver). Better than new! Almost perfect seat set from 1983. Grey/silver tweed centers with black bodies, fronts and rears. Factory turbo nose with an eight inch crack above one light. Easy fixer. Several sunroofs. A couple of rear hatches. 2 decent non-turbo front spoilers. Bursch headers and racing exhaust (used but in good shape). Brand new aftermarket tan/brown cabin carpet kit. I also have a 1983 project. Currently dark blue with a brown interior. It has light body damage to the passenger side fender, head light bucket and front nose panel. I will supply good body parts and new headlight assembly with the project. Car has factory cookie cutters. It ran when parked last summer. I am bringing home two new projects (1953 and 1954 chevys) and would like to get rid of my 944 collection. I am currently sitting on five of them and need to get rid of a few. Please email at gdjones6@hotmail.com with quetions or if you want pictures of anything. Let me know what you need........ |

UconnTim:
"Brown", are you looking for just the tan carpeted map pockets? If so, I have an almost perfect set. They have all the plastic mounting nipples intacted and are very clean. $15 + $5 for shipping. Just let me know. Thanks, Greg |

Would the Tan/Brown capet set fit a 1977 924?
Same question regarding the lock knob/pins which stick out of the doors. Also, would you be willing to take one of the locking pins from a hatch? They're sorta upsidedown mushroom looking things attached with a funky bolt to a block at the very back of the hatch. Thanks, -Jeff |

Fuzzbeaner:
I believe the cabin is the same size and should fit the 924. The lock/pins are the same and I do have an extra hatch pin if I can get it off in one piece. They are notoriuos for rusting and then stripping our when you try to remove them. Email at gdjones6@hotmail.com to talk price. Greg |

Struts
I saw a complete unit, housing, strut and spring pair sell for $20 + shipping on ebay last week. All I want is the LF and RF housing, so you could resell the shocks and springs. This will also help reduce shipping expense. I will give you $12 plus shipping for the LF and RF housings to 66221

What size are the phonedials and what are the offsets? How much would you want for them without being refinished and are the straight?

TNT25169: They are 15x7 early offsets from 1983. They have some light curb marks on two of them, so that is whay I was going to have them refinished. 600-1000 grit sand paper does wonders to curb marks. Just as they sit I would take $275.00 plus shipping.
br951: go $15 and I if it can wait until next weekend then we are good. Greg |

944 brakes
I have a vw squareback that needs brakes. What would you want for the front brakes including calipers, rotor, spindle, hub and also the rears including the trailing arms and rear swaybar if equipped. I also would need as much of the Ebrake cable as you could salvage.
thanks Michael P. Lowe mplowe@mac.com |
