Need a good block
I stripped down my '83 2.5L NA on saturday to find that all of the cylinders have bad scoring and the #1 cylinder obviously had something bouncing around it in for a while. That block is pretty much toast unless I bore it out and then get oversized pistons which I believe have to be custom made. Unfortunately I can't afford to have the block bored and have custom pistons made right now so I need another block. I'm looking for a good block, preferably one that has been spec'd and is close to if not within the taper limits. I don't really need the internals at all but if that is how you want to sell it I guess I'll end up with spares. If you have a block you would like to sell please post the year, mileage, condition and location.

I do have a good block it came out of an 83 euro car the compression is a little higher. I can't use this to race it comes with block and internals still together with head removed. I do have the head, airflow meter, control unit and wiring harness. This motor is very clean and ran well when removed from the car located in Atl. GA. If you want this make me an offer.

Racing Porsche what was the mileage on the motor? Do you have compression numbers from before you pulled the head?

Mileage was around 85000 to 90000 miles. No compression numbers sorry.

I've got an 84' long block.
70k miles, 175psi on all 4 All records Not cheap though. |

Jason how cheap is not cheap? I don't mind paying a little extra cash for a good motor.

I'll let you know once I pull the motor out of the parts car I have. The head is already off and the cylinders look fine. As I really don't know the history of this car I'd like to pull the pan check the mains and rods. Hopefully it's a good one.

I hava a good running in car engine from an 83 944. I can deliver to Va. for 650 total. I can take compression numbers as well as send a video of engine starting and running with sound. Oil ans antifreeze are not mixing and no apparent leaks. 5psi pressure when starting and between 2 and 3 at idle.

earl sounds enticing. What kind of mileage does that car have? Front end maintenence? Send me the video and compression numbers when you get them, I'll PM you my e-mail address. Would this be the complete motor with wiring harness and all so I could technically just drop it in, plug it up and go?

the car has 120K. I dont have any maintenance records but will forward the compression numbers and video this week. IF NEEDED I CAN INCLUDE ENGINE COMPLETE INTACT WITH HARNESS AND MANIFOLDS> WE CAN WORK OUT DETAILS OF EXACTLY WHAT IS INCLUDED>

83 long block
Not sure if your still in need of the Block, but if you are I just decided to part out my 83 yesterday. Have complete engine with around 52000 on it. don't have numbers but it was running until the wiring harness fried and left me along the road. If you still need it drop me a line spider944jam
